The Coral Wreath is an abstract series that takes inspiration from the hustle and bustle of a busy living coral reef with tons of different colours, textures and contrasts of sea life on the sea bed. I took inspiration from my backpacker days, traveling through South East Asia, snorkeling above these wonderful colourful worlds and seeing beautiful, floating Plumeria flowers on the surface of the sea. 

Wonderfully exotic, but festive enough for Christmas and can beautifully grace your walls beyond the holidays! 

The series is a collage of different elements from alcohol ink on Yupo, to embroidery, beading and faux flowers. Gold metallic thread connects all of these elements together. The word 'Joy' is embroidered in the centre to finish off the wreath. 

More than half of the beads used in this series are salvaged from old jewellery, clothing and charity shops!

The back of each piece is uncovered to reveal the meticulous hours of embroidery work. It comes ready to hang by a string attached to 2 hooks at the back.

Round canvas is 30cm in diameter x 1.5cm / 12" diameter x 0.5"
