An original mixed-media and hand embroidered work from the Botanica Deconstructa series, Threaded Pollen reimagines botanical forms through fluid ink washes and dense, dimensional needlework - breaking down organic life into raw texture, sculptural relief, and layered mixed media.
The composition unfolds across fluid, diaphanous stains of dusty lavender, pale rose, and cool celadon alcohol ink. Rising from this atmospheric ground are three deconstructed floral blooms, featuring radiating thread painting in vibrant magenta, plum, teal, and navy. Sinuous pathways of electric yellow pollen tendrils and dense threadwork curve outward alongside undulating lines of new and salvaged glass seed beads, accented by lustrous faux pearls and shimmering metallic thread. Requiring between 100 and 120 hours of devoted hand-stitching, the reverse remains intentionally unlined to reveal the hidden architecture of thousands of knots and thread pathways.
